ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS WITH ADDING AN ADU TO MY PROPERTY?
Yes, in most counties, an ADU cannot exceed a specific square footage, typically in California you are allowed up to 1000 SF for a second unit. If you are wanting to add an ADU to your backyard, access to the building area will be very important. We look for at least 15 ft wide of space to access, as well as fences, trees or powerlines that could interrupt the delivery.
I’M HAVING TROUBLE FINDING A FLAT PIECE OF LAND. HOW CAN WOODEN HOME HELP?
A New Home Consultant may be able to connect you with a real estate agent depending on your area. Talk with your New Home Consultant to learn more about factors that go into finding a lot, and remember, Teardowns are also a great option in addition to raw land.
WILL WOODEN HOME BUILD ON MY RAW LAND?
Yes! We are highly experienced with building on raw, undeveloped land. We have successfully installed well, septic and brought in new utility lines to the property.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
There are two-time frames to consider: “pre-permit” and “post permit”
PRE-PERMIT: Wooden Home does not control the pre-permitting time frame, which includes design, engineering, and local government approval – including “design review” in some locations
This can be as fast as 3 months and as long as 12 months, depending on your municipality
POST-PERMIT – 10 Weeks
- 5 weeks to build in the factory
- 1-6 weeks to deliver the house
- 5 to set the home
- 2 days — 3 weeks to finish on site
Also, it is good to keep in mind that the building in the factory can happen at the same time your site work is being done. This allows for the boxes to show up and be set on the foundation the day after the concrete has cured.
